The Vineyards
The vineyards of Whyte Horse Winery are located on the rolling hills along the Big Creek in White County, Indiana. Whyte Horse grows many of our own grapes that are used to produce our wines.
Because we are located in an area that has cold winters, we have chosen to plant cold-hardy grapes suitable to the terroir of Indiana, from which we are excited to produce wines. To date, we have planted Traminette and Vignoles grapes. We increased our vineyard with several hundred new vines planted in Spring 2011.
The vineyard is located on a farm a few miles from the winery, and its light soil flows along lightly rolling hills. The winery, however, is located about five miles away on flatter ground and also has a small vineyard.
