Whyte Horse Wines Medal at Finger Lakes International Wine Competition
Published: March 29, 2012
We are proud to announce that four of our wines were awarded medals at the 12th annual Finger Lakes International Wine Competition in Rochester, NY. The world's largest charitable wine competition, Finger Lakes benefits Camp Good Days, which provides camping experiences for children living with cancer, HIV/AIDS and violence, as well as adults with cancer.
Our award winners were: 2008 Zinfandel (Silver), 2010 Riesling, 2009 Black Beauty, and 2010 Seyval Blanc (Bronze). More than 750 wineries competed for top honors at this international wine competition held March 24-25. More than 3,100 wines were entered in the competition, with entries coming from 22 countries, 49 states and five Canadian provinces.
Each wine was tasted and scored in a blind tasting by a panel of international judges, examined for presence, balance and varietal character. Medals were awarded for unanimous Double Gold, Gold, Silver and Bronze wines.
The award-winning wines will be featured at the Annual Camp Good Days Wine Auction Dinner on May 5, at the Rochester Plaza Hotel, with News10NBC's Rich Funke serving as Master of Ceremonies. All proceeds from the auction benefit Camp Good Days.
